It would be helpful to add 88010 (remote control) to the hardware page.

• What buttons and lights does it have?
• Is it programmable?
  • Does it have a bootloader mode?
  • Is is possible to install alternate code, even temporarily?

Not that we know of. At least not over the air.

Is is possible to install alternate code, even temporarily?

It doesn't look that way, but you can change its name. In this way you could store up to 14 bytes on the device or so.
